SSCE Review

SSCE is a small organization that only offers a few certifications, all focused on the Six Sigma process improvement method.  SSCE offers five programs that consist of both the training and a certification exam at the end.  They offer a free program so that you can try their training at no cost before you commit.  The company has a blog which is regularly updated with valuble information, including interviews with professionals working in their fields.  This organization competes in the marketplace with competitive pricing.  They offer a bundle package that offers three certifications at a heavily discounted price.

Detailed Review:

SSCE (Six Sigma Certification Education) offers five certifications focused on the six sigma method of process improvement.  They offer a free certification called Essentials, and it gives you a basic understanding of process improvement.  This allows you to get a free certification and try a program before committing to pay.  The website is well-designed and easy to navigate.  The customer service they offer seems limited, there is no phone number or address.  They do offer a contact form to submit questions.  We submitted several questions and received a reply within two hours answering our questions in a polite manner.

Programs Offered:

SSCE offers four paid certification programs.  These programs include the online training material and the exam.  Here are two that we looked at and recommend:

• Six Sigma Small Projects Certified – This program teaches the basics of Kaizen, which is used for short improvement projects.  Accourding tot he website: “You will learn how to develop and organize a small six sigma project.  These Kaizen events are designed to be fast and effective, propelling your company to more profits with less waste and inefficiencies.”
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certification – This is the project manager level of Six Sigma and the level that most professionals aspire.  This program is priced significantly lower than most organizations.  Does this mean the program is less recognized than a more expensive option?  Hard to say.  Our experience is that as long as you can demonstrate your knowledge at work, the certification program will carry weight.  Reviews.education recommends this program for someone who needs a Six Sigma certification quickly and isn’t concerned about a high level of name-recognition.  SSCE follows the Six Sigma Body of Knowledge developed by MSI.

SSCE appears to be a newer organization (2021) and does have many online reviews.  We were able to find six total reviews, all appear to be from existing customers who rated the company 5 stars.  Here a several of the reviews we found:

• “I found the training was well laid-out and easy to understand.  I went through it quickly and then pass the certification exam.  The whole process only took about a week.  My employer gave me credit for completing the training, so that’s something.  Hopefully it will have long-term benefits.”
• “The exam was challenging but I still passed!  The material really prepares you for the exam so be sure to read everything.  I like that everything was included because it really saved me a lot of money.  Going to get another certification from them this week.”
